This is my go to restaurant when I host visitors from out of town. It's a nice restaurant. I'm a big fan of their happy hour because their happy hour menu includes raw oysters along with discounted beers and cocktails. I recommend their frozen French 75. I really enjoy the crawfish cornbread and the Tchop chicken entree. The service is always on point, and the quality of their food is always consistent.

Love love love the classic margarita and cocktail menu. The food is so good and authentic. The best in the city. It's in my top 5 for Mexican food by far...hands down.

Awesome spot right by the towncar line in the Garden District. Great ambiance and service. It's fun to walk around the neighborhood before heading to the next destination. The chargrilled oysters are the best--I only wish we had ordered more. We also had the shrimp and grits and the blackened catfish. The only complaint is that the ambiance and menus felt a little too touristy and not as homey as they could have. Despite that, I will definitely be back for the oysters!

In summary: good food, alright service, weird ambiance. Recommend getting a reservation even for a Monday evening. Food: super great. Totally delicious. My party got the Pasta Vieux Carre and gumbo and a blackened catfish. Fantastic! No complains or issues. If you want something tasty, here is the place! Service: Maybe it was just our waitress' off day so not docking any points or anything. She was very brusque and didn't ask if we wanted to split the check or anything, not super involved or engaged at all. Which is fine! But average service doesn't get rave reviews of service. Ambiance: strange in a mixed-level way, not off-putting or weird ways. The tablecloths were started white linen, the inside glass and mirrors and details glamorous and stately, the carved Hellenistic bar statues nice. But also, it was so loud my party and I practically had no conversation at all because we weren't able to hear each other across the table, there was tvs playing the NBA, and speakers blasting pop and rock songs. Some other patrons had slushy alcoholic drinks in branded cheap plastic cups, while others were dressed up and dressed well. Two very different vibes in the same room. So overall if you're looking for something quiet or cohesive as an experience, look elsewhere. Just into food and not conversation with your party? Go here for sure!

Haven't been here in a few years. Came for lunch, and it's still great! Service, great. Food, awesome. THE FOOD: Started with a chicken/andouille gumbo. Lot of meat, rice, and a spicy, tasty rich gumbo. The Blackened Fish Napoleón was done perfectly. Very good. The whipped potatoes were kind of lost with the corn maque choux, and crawfish etoufee. But overall, a 9 out of 10.

Superior Seafood is a perfect choice if you're looking for seafood, especially oysters, while uptown. Superior hasn't been on the corner of Napoleon and St. Charles for ages, but it sure looks and feels like it. The interior is full of rich wood tones, exposed brick, and that charming New Orleans tile work that defines so many other classic eateries about town. The dining room offers both intimate booths and table seating, plus bar top for those wanting to watch the drink slinging action or whatever sports are playing on the tv. One wall of the dining area looks out onto St. Charles and frames the streetcars passing by their windows perfectly. (also great for carnival season!) Service was exceptional. Our server checked on us often, and was helpful in guiding us through the menu questions. We wanted to take our time, and she offered to pace out the meal as we went, so we weren't getting our entrees while still snacking on our appetizers. We had a problem with one entree being sent out cold, and she immediately turned it back to the kitchen for a refire. Zero complaints. The food was great. We went big on oysters. We had 2 dozen raw and the oyster superior plate that offers 2 Bienville, 2 Char-grilled, and 2 Rockefeller. The raw oysters came out ice cold with cocktail and grated horse radish and the sample plate was a great way to touch a little bit of everything. Entrees were the scallops and the Andouille sausage stuffed jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both came with a starter salad. The scallops were served cold but like I mentioned, our waitress fixed the issue lickity split. Everything was delicious. Sometimes consistent places trump the new and notables, and Superior Seafood certainly deserves to be on your trusted rotation list.

I typically come here during the carnival season as it's reasonably located on the route and it's fairly easily accessible. It's nice that the street car ends not far from there (during MG), and right in front during the rest of the year, so you don't have to worry about finding parking, although there is usually some kind of street parking within walking distance most of the year. Inside, it looks like a more old-fashioned surf and turf style restaurant - heavy wooden fixtures and tall booths to afford you some privacy, although they do cram the tables in, so when it gets crowded, it's hard to navigate to the restrooms. The service is always top-notch, although, like most places in New Orleans, I feel as though they are running a bit short-staffed and so things take the more leisurely paced atmosphere of most Southern restaurants. I often go for the smaller foods - oysters, crawfish mac n cheese, appetizers, etc, but I have also gone for the filet and bigger items on special occasions. I've never walked out of there feeling hungry or dissatisfied with a meal. The plating may leave a little to be desired, but when the steak melts in your mouth, who cares what it looked like before that first glorious taste?!
